Wyndham City Council Expresses Solidarity with Godawari Municipality Amid Disaster

Australia: Wyndham City Council has expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal, extending its heartfelt condolences to Godawari Municipality and the people of Nepal.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw, in a condolence message addressed to the Mayor of Godawari Municipality, expressed deep sadness over the loss of lives, people still missing, and the extensive damage to homes, communities, and infrastructure caused by the disaster.

The message conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the affected families, those awaiting news of their missing loved ones, and people who have been displaced. It also recognised and praised the tireless efforts of Nepal’s security forces, volunteers, and local communities involved in rescue and relief operations.

Wyndham City Council also expressed serious concern over the 34 Australian citizens reported missing in Nepal as a result of the natural disaster.

Recalling the strong and friendly relationship between Godawari Municipality and Wyndham City Council, Mayor Shaw stated that the people of Wyndham stand with Godawari Municipality and the Nepali community during this difficult time.

Wyndham City Council extended its sincere wishes for the success of the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts and for the safety, wellbeing, and security of the people of Godawari Municipality and Nepal.
