New Momentum in Nepal–Australia Local Cooperation: Godawari – Wyndham Talks Concluded
A significant discussion was held at the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu regarding the implementation of the Friendship City Agreement between Godawari Municipality and Wyndham City Council, Australia.

Kathmandu — A significant discussion was held at the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu regarding the implementation of the Friendship City Agreement between Godawari Municipality and Wyndham City Council, Australia.

The talks were held with Mr. Greg Klemm, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, focusing on further strengthening and effectively advancing the Godawari – Wyndham Friendship City relationship. During the discussion, views were exchanged on institutionalizing the partnership between the two cities and exploring future opportunities for joint programs and cooperation.

It was also informed that there is a plan to carry the flags of Nepal, Australia, and Wyndham City to Mount Everest during the upcoming summer season as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two cities. Similarly, discussions were held on developing an “Eco Valley” concept within Godawari Municipality based on Australian urban development models, including integrated settlement planning.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Man Bahadur Khadka, Chief Administrative Officer of Godawari Municipality, entrepreneur and activist Dan Ghising, and facilitator Samer Manandhar.

The discussion is considered an important step toward strengthening Nepal – Australia local government relations and enhancing international cooperation.
