To strengthen the cultural and religious relations between Nepal and Australia, the “Bridge of Peace: A Recognition Ceremony” is scheduled to take place on November 21, 2025, at the renowned The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Australia.Representatives from various municipalities across Nepal will participate in this significant event. The Nepalese delegation, led by Mr. Dan Ghising, will be present at the program.The event will also be attended by officials from the City of Greater Bendigo, members of the Nepali community in Bendigo, as well as mayors and representatives from Nepal’s municipalities and rural municipalities. A welcome session with light refreshments will be arranged for the guests.The ceremony will be hosted by Ms. Alyce Crosbie, General Manager of the Great Stupa, who will begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land and introducing the guest speakers.The main highlight of the event will be the presentation of “Bridge of Peace: A Recognition Ceremony” to Mr. Ian Green OAM in appreciation of his contributions.During the ceremony, the Mayor/CEO of the City of Greater Bendigo, Mayor Gajendra Maharjan Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur, Ms. Gandaki Thapa Badhigad Rural Municipality, Baglung, and Mr. Raju Thapa Kathekhola Rural Municipality, Baglung will deliver remarks and exchange gifts.This event is regarded as an important step toward strengthening friendship, peace, and cultural cooperation between Nepal and Australia. Both sides have expressed their belief that the “Bridge of Peace” will serve as a symbol of mutual respect and collaboration.
